Solicitations within Avalon

Multiple complaints have been received over the past week regarding solicitations within the community. If you are approached, please advise the party that solicitation is discouraged within Avalon and No Soliciting signs are posted at the entrance.
The Board of Directors would like for everyone to be aware of the additional information regarding solicitations from the Security Committee:
 1.  Even if we post a sign it is not illegal for someone to solicit in Avalon.
2.  The Avalon Security Committee discourages owners from opening their house door to anyone they do not recognize at the door.  If necessary they can talk through the door with the door closed.
3.  If the solicitor becomes a problem or if the homeowner suspects a problem the homeowner should call the Loudon County Police Dept. and report the incident.
4.  With a solicitor at the door the homeowner must be aware that they could possibly be there for something other than soliciting the homeowner.
 
 
LCUB Notice - Connection Fee

PUBLIC NOTICE
LCUB’s Water Department is waiving the $25.00 Connection Fee for existing irrigation meter
customers during the Month of April 2014 only. Beginning May 1, 2014 the normal service charge will
be re-instated. Please call LCUB Customer Service at (865) 986-6591 ext. 1500 to schedule the appointment to have your irrigation meter connected in the month of April 2014.
The charge will be waived for only the initial trip to the residence. If additional trips are required due to the fact that the system control valve is left open or the water meter continues to run, a $25.00 charge will be incurred for each additional visit.
 
 
Be Security Vigilant - Report Incidents

While we will not  be able to permanently stop crime, we should all be vigilant and aware when it occurs. Any crime or suspicious activity reported will be emailed to all owners and posted on the website as quickly as possible.
We hope that no one experiences crime within our community, but the fact is some of us will. Another fact is crime normally occurs in waves. To that end, it is critically important that each resident help other residents by reporting  any type of crime or suspicious activity either  to a Board Member, Ben Harkins (Safety and Security Committee Chair), or Matt Purvis at 615-775-9041 or mpurvis@morrisproperty.com.
